Claire's London Marathon 2013

Created by Alison 10 years ago
As many of you know Bill passed away on 31st August 2012 and after nearly 20 years of knowing him has my step dad this came as a great shock and loss to me. We are all doing what we can to come to terms with the massive hole that has been left since Bill's death and in many ways it still feels like a terrible dream that you hope to wake up from, as life as we knew it has changed irrevocably. When I was one of the lucky entrants to be balloted into the London Marathon this year, I immediately chose to run on behalf of Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice as without the support and help from the whole team, Bill would not have been able to stay at home with his family, which included his wonderful puppy - Tula. During the last 6 weeks when things took a turn for the worst, especially in the last 10 days, the nurses and carers came into their own and my mum, sisters and I are eternally grateful to them all. So this is one way that I am able to say a more personal thank you to the team.
